yess...I am such a dork. dreaming about such minor little things like concerts, why not
world peace or something smart and altruistic right?
in this case...I have always (since 15) wanted to see them perform live. ever since I bought their 3rd album, "Final Straw" - I was spell bounded and hooked. Little did I know it would be one of the crucial albums in my life that changed everything...how I saw music and viewed life. It was amazing - putting that record into my stereo and just fading into the musical abyss. priceless.
I could go on forever about how much I adore Snow Patrol but I won't bore you any longer with my concert geek-ness! ;)
I finally got the chance to drive up to Portland to see them at Arlene Schnitzer concert hall! It was perfect. the setting and venue was gorgeous!! the concert was like a breath of fresh air - you know how people say that its a out of body experience when you watch a concert live, well it is true but so much more than that. It's the tingling sensation when the lights dim and stage lights up with purple hues and orange burst of flames, the strumming of the guitar strings, the amplified vocals soaring through the speakers, the harmony and magical glow, the energy from the band members, their hearts pouring just for you *the audience*, the sound waves coursing through your body - its just all the elements just joining together creating a spectacle for the senses. Probably why I keep going back for more... :) hehe.
reminds me that I'm still alive, and that I should do something great with my life! It makes me go, "Woah, God is a genius and such an artist for creating music!" overwhelming awe.
I will just say this...Nothing beats a good rock concert! *period*
This may sound soo corny but I have a list of bands that I HAVE to see live *by hook or by crook* haha. seriously. And I HAVE already done 2 out of 6! not bad right?? 4 more to go!
