In Bloom... :)

Brandon Flowers is back with a new album,
but this time without his faithful companions and musical choir of instrumentalist
friends who made up the phenomenal indie rock band, "The Killers"

In Bloom

Flowers' promotional pictures for his solo album - "Flamingo" paying homage to his beautiful
glamorous city of Las Vegas. Flamingo street is a downtown sin city street leading to Sam's Town, which incidentally is what his band's second album instalment was titled.

Seems like this artist and performer has pulled inspiration out from this city filled with stories of pitfalls due to temptation, bright lights, clamour of it's seductive nature and excitement!
Over crowded by eager young bloods seeking entertainment and a cause for redemption...
and travellers in a dustland fairytale of "dreams"

as suave as ever in checks. ;)

Yet, this man still strongly clings on to his stubborn belief in his hometown, born and bred a true Las Vegas boy with Las Vegas magnitude and not leaving behind the glitz and glamour.

I found his promo shots very artistic and depicting who he is as an artist and a songwriter, someone who always seems to wear his heart on his sleeves without hesitation, shy yet empowering personality, his feet pounding the stage like a solider marching off to battle, fist punching the air as if he was fighting for a momentous cause of grave importance.

So much vigor and with hand over his chest in the "pledge of elegance" stance he sings eyes lifted to the sky! full of hope and love. You can tell, he belongs to those few - who sing from the heart! from the very soul. :)

not to mention he has great personal style. *wink*

People ask why music affects me so much? Why do I talk about a band or an artist as though he was a historian, a poet or a leader of a nation...so much conviction? why?

I never understood the fascination and odd questions of why and how I fell head over hells for this art...I JUST DID. no questions asked.

It's artists like these that make it worthwhile, and prove that music flows through us and around us like a never-ending wave of joy! create and destroy and build.

overall, just can't wait for Mr. Flowers' new debut solo album!!

It sounds (from the previews) epic, mesmerizing and ingenious. :)

Crossfire - new single off the "Flamingo" album.
