The BIG 2-0!!! I’m in the 20 Club.
Woah, I’m not a teen anymore?! I’m a tween…hehe.
Today I turned 20, two decades old…wow, time sure knows how to catch up with you. It just seemed like yesterday that I was 15 and sitting for my PMR. Now, I’m already 20 and leaving in 5 days for
Ridiculous. But also exciting…
Thanks to all who wished me! and sent me emails or facebook messages. Appreciate your warm kind wishes!
Someone said my birthday is not a Birth-day….but a Birth-week! Haha. Actually to think of it, it’s true. My family tends to celebrate bd for a long period of time…dinner after dinner, lunch or brunch. 3 cakes and many buffets, a few parties and a couple of surprises. I must sound spoilt, but…really, I am so happy that I get to spend this time of the year with different people and doing things I love with loved ones!!
I am an event/celebrating type of gal, and therefore love parties and being in the company of those I love. Btw, its Christmas…that helped me set the mood to drink, eat and be merry!
After my White Party on the 18th of Dec, I had a shopping spree, some outings with dear friends before I leave, Christmas pressie hunts etc...Yesterday, my family and relatives brought me to eat at PJ Hilton Supper buffet – at 11pm! To count down to me ‘real’ birthday. Then I came home at around 1am to find a couple of jokers hiding behind my furniture and curtains jumping out to surprise me! haha…I had a shock of my life!
Although I was suspicious when I spotted Jin Fong’s car outside my house…(wondering what he was doing here) ahaha, my parents asked me to enter the house first to use the toilet. -_-“
All in all,
I was so touched by their thoughtful gesture and bolt from the blue! I meant a lot to me…
We ate cake – again. (Chocolate of course) and they made a gigantic bd card with little notes written all over it! *thinks to self, “I have remarkable friends!”* hehe.
I sat under my Christmas tree and started tearing open all the presents I received on the 18th as well as the latest ones. I love reading bd cards and admiring each personal gift or note, with dimly lit lights and carols playing in the background.
I adore all the gifts given to me! I must say…some of you really know me!
The scarves (awesome for keeping me warm during those frosty nights), blouses (great style choices), Lots of body shop stuff (hmmm…the scent!), slippers (right size), Journals, Notes *sweet*, Personalized Calendar (way cool!), Books (for a good read), Accessories (I think I don’t need to elaborate on that..hehe), Handbags (perfect color and size), Nail polish (manicure heaven), Random gifts *like mix cds, tapes, handmade cards*, pencil box. Can’t name everything – but I’m so thankful for them.
Hope I can bring it over to the states (with the bag limit and restrictions)…should be alright for now. Disclaimer: Anything over 1kg will be accepted as pressies, just maybe not carried along with me.
21st morning – had traditional birthday noodles with red eggs *like we have every year*
Last Sunday service at 9am…(was quite sad about leaving my church for such a long time)
Later, my family and I had a lovely Chinese Dim Sum lunch at ONE world hotel! I was very very good. Think fine dining and huge oversized plates with barely ¼ filled with food. Haha. But, I enjoyed the variety and food a lot. I purposely chose a Chinese meal, because when I leave – I don’t think Chinese food in US can compare to ours, period.
At night – My church had a Christmas Dinner called, “I’ll be home for Christmas”
Theme was red, green and white! So…I came as festive as possible with bright red from top to bottom *literally even my toe nails!*
It was so fun to spend the last few hours of my bd with my other “extended” family members, eating and joining in the activities together! Singing carols and costume contests just kept me in the joyous mood throughout the night.
At the end of the day, my birthday rocked! Totally spent it prudently and with the ones I love. An experience which differs each and every year but endlessly I feel blessed to have such moments in my own life.

Peace,
Adeline
