I watched Twilight yesterday and after all the two sided critics and undyingly loyal fans continuously giving me their feedback about the movie, I realized the best thing to do is watch it for myself.
Since I never really knew much about Twilight before the movie, being that it wasn’t as famous as Harry Potter I went into the cinema having little to no expectations. But, one thing was for sure I loved the color and dense forestry used as locations throughout the movie.
I found out they filmed the entire movie in
Besides that, the actors were alright. I think Kristin Stewart (from Panic Room and Into the Wild) isn’t such a bad actress…she has a natural flair about her and an eccentric personality that’s a little shady and ominous. Edward’s character was as I said, “knight in shining armor” portrayal. Totally the depiction of the kind of guy any girl would fall for, except one twist…he is a vampire. XD ruggedly pale and mysteriously tormented, who wouldn’t like that?
All in all, I like the soundtrack *mostly alternative rock tunes* and the feel the movie had, very gritty and raw. The storyline was good, but maybe I’m bias because I have an infatuation for romantic dramas. If audiences are looking for a realistic journey – you’ll be disappointed. It’s fantasy and surreal in many ways…but it made me feel like I was rooting for Bella and Ed to be together! Some call it a “chick flick” but guys could enjoy it too I suppose…vampires? Blood? Hehe. I dunno, judge it for yourself.
I bought the book Eclipse after the movie!! Haha. Tearing it up a few chapters at a time. pretty good read actually.
I loved two of the songs in the movie, thought I would share em with you guys:
First one is 15 Step - Radiohead *played during the credits* awesome fit!
Second one is from Iron and Wine called Flightless Bird, American Mouth - played during the movie. forgot which part, but i noticed it as soon as i heard it. love it.
Peace,
Adeline
